ATP Company experience began in 1992 in a little office in the centre of Brescia thanks to Mr. Tanghetti, a foundry technician with 30 years experience in the production
of O.E. wheels.
Mr. Tanghetti gathered the most faithful designers (Mr. Rocca) and foundry technicians (Mr. Maffezzoni) together with a young and unexperienced salesman
(Mr. Perciaccante) and started a new challenge:
a Company called ATP (which means Autoaccessories Tanghetti Paolo).
From the first plans of year 1992 derived the first wheels only in 1993. Model 2110 was planned for Autogerma, the Italian VW-Audi Importer, however it wasn't very successful. Therefore ATP Company concluded season 1993 with a sale figure
of 10.000 light alloy wheels and big financial difficulties.
ATP attended the Frankfurt Show in September 1993 thanks to a Dutch friend, Mr. Zani who borrowed Mr. Tanghetti his booth. Mr. Tanghetti decided to expose an unconventional, distinctive 5-spokes rim called “Color” available with caps in different colours and with a special lock key for bolts.
This wheel was very successful and importers from all countries worldwide stayed in a queue for a long time to talk to the salesman about this new model. The following year ATP invoiced 40.000 wheels and the balance was almost positive.
In 1995 an old colleague of Mr. Tanghetti, Mr. Moraschi left his job as a production manager in an important factory in Brescia and joined ATP staff. He began to work again enthusiastically together with his old boss. “Color” was followed by other designs, all innovative, the market appreciated this small humble Company, which began to be a worldwide well-known name. The first importing market was Greece, where a young bolt salesman, Mr. Manolis Kasselakis decided to invest his savings in an indipendent activity and started importing Model “Color”.
At the beginning of year 1995, ATP introduced Model 4020, which was similar to the wheel of Porsche Carrera but it was in 15'' and was destined to the new Audi A4. It had immediate success and ATP delivered to Autogerma over 20.000 pcs.
Success grew, new markets began to be active, Taiwan, Austria, Portugal, France, Norway and at last also the U.S.A. in 1997. The American giant The Tire Rack became fond of ATP models. During the 2nd year of cooperation, ATP delivered in the U.S.A. over 35.000 pcs. wheels.
Time passed by very quickly, ATP family grew, the Company changed its name in TECNOFORMING and moved to a new plant in Longhena. Mr. Tanghetti bought the new premises from a Company producing helicopters which had financial difficulties.
The idea of producing 2-pcs, heat treated and particularly light rims was winning, because it allowed TECNOFORMING to aquire new customers like some important German tuners who assure high volumes and a remarkable technical development beside increasing the image of this Company from Brescia.
The idea of covering the lips of the rims with shining stainless steel rings allowed TECNOFORMING to change the production of light alloy wheels abandoning the old diamond cut finish.
Besides, stainless steel lips allow to manufacture monoblock wheels with the same look of 2-pcs. rims with a remarkable reduction of costs.
INOX is the most recent piece of news studied for the American market. However it has revealed to be the best seller also in Europe.
The second best-seller is model MAGNUM.
These wheels are completely covered in stainless steel, they are more shining and more resistant than chromium-plated wheels and their price is quite competitive.
TECNOFORMING is currently developing some important innovations. The goal is the production of wheels through new methods and technologies. Some of these are forging, laminating, flowforming and they can be resumed under the slogan “Change shape to give shape”.
This will be our aim to carry on working and researching in a field where many things still need to be found out.
Nowadays TECNOFORMING produces ATP brand, AT ITALIA brand, wheels for tuners, rims for car importers, 2-pcs. wheels for other manufacturers, half-original equipment for the most well-known German and Japanese car producers.
Tecnologically advanced, Tecnoforming produces today the lightest alloy wheels 2 pcs welded with Forged Rim and Heat Treated Center Superpolished.
